Hi everyone. You’ll have to excuse the dodgy iPhone photography.

Just been to Charles & Motee Rogers Bushland reserve with Friends of Escaprment Parks to see the work they are doing. Looked up at this ant nest- until it’s ear moved.
One of our lovely resident Highfields Koala just chilling. Right in the heart of town.
He was about 1 tree in from O’Brien road just north of the new library.
A reminder to slow down and keep a look out on O’Brien road where they cross.
Am looking at the idea of koala crossing signs
Have also had three confirmed sightings of the Powerful Owl back for another year, all in Highfields.
Cr Tim.
🐨🏞️ Parks Week!🏞️🐨
TRC Parks Week starts this Saturday 4 March. A celebration of everything our parks and Bushland spaces have to offer.
I was at Highfields this morning doing some work with the Friends of the Escarpment Parks Toowoomba group in Charles & Motee Rogers Bushland reserve.
We had just finished a walkthrough when I thought I saw an ant nest, right up high in the gum tree- until it’s ear moved.
Excuse the dodgy iPhone photography but it was great to see one of our local Koala just chilling in this Bushland reserve right in the heart of Highfields.
A valuable reminder to watch for them crossing on O’Brien road, but great to see a happy, local koala.
There have also been 3 confirmed sightings of Powerful owls in Highfields this season which is exciting.

Our grandson was so upset at how much litter we picked up in a local bush reserve ( Charles and Motee Rogers Reserve ) that he wrote this note and asked me to put it up in Facebook so everyone can help save the planet 🌍
He said to me ‘pop it wouldn’t take much if everyone did something’

Bush Kindy Tree Planting at Charles and Motee Rogers Bushland Reserve

14th July 2020 - Bush Kindy Tree Planting at Charles and Motee Rogers Bushland Reserve

Another fun bush kindy on Monday. The children planted more trees to supplement the natural bushland in the Charles and Motee Rogers Bushland Reserve. They also built a small humpy to bring meaning to their studies about our indigenous Australians.
Did you know that the reserve is classified as an Endangered Ecosystem and is one of the last remaining patches of natural bushland in Highfields?
